Susan Gaffney, DVM
Dr. Gaffney is originally from Oklahoma. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1986. She practiced in Tulsa for 10 years before moving to Angel Fire with her family in 1996. She opened Angel Fire Small Animal Hospital in 1997. She has two grown adult children, Lewis and Erin. They were 2 1/2 years and 10 months old when she moved to New Mexico. Though it’s just her husband, Tim, and she living here now, the whole family loves to ski, bicycle, hike, camp and fish, the main reasons they moved to this beautiful area. She has a wonderful dog named Stella, a horse and 5 goats.

Rachel Plympton, DVM
Dr. Plympton came back to the Moreno Valley after spending the past 5 years in Montana.  She graduated from Washington State University's veterinary college in 2010.  After graduating from veterinary school, she did an internship in large animal rural medicine in Nova Scotia.  She worked on large ranches in Montana, doing a lot of cattle herd health medicine.  She works on large and small animals and eventually will have a large animal mobile practice in the area.  Her family has lived in Black Lake for generations.  Her grandfather taught school in Cimarron years ago.  She loves doing surgery and is currently just working one day a week as well as filling in for Dr. Gaffney when she is out of town.  She has two small children and loves having time to be mostly a full time mom.  She likes to kayak, ski, hike, bicycle and raise sheep.
