Dr. Susan Gaffney and her family moved to Angel Fire in the fall of 1996. Initially Dr. Gaffney provided veterinary services by making house calls until the Angel Fire Small Animal Hospital was completed in February of 1997.
Dr. Gaffney and her husband Tim have 2 children, Lewis, their 16 year old son, and Erin, their 13 year old daughter. You may very well meet Tim when visiting the boarding facility at their house or when he is helping out around the veterinary hospital.
Dr. Gaffney graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. Her first position after veterinary school was as an associate veterinarian in Tulsa, Oklahoma at a practice that saw a lot of birds and other exotic small animals in addition to dogs and cats. For the next 3 years, Dr. Gaffney attended to many parrots, macaws, and other birds as well as small exotic mammals, rabbits, guinea pigs "pocket pets".
After 3 years of working at the predominantly exotic animal clinic, Dr Gaffney moved to Woodland Animal Medical Center, a large multiple veterinarian practice with a few satellite clinics in Tulsa. She continued seeing exotic animals and also developed an interest in small animal dentistry. After several continuing education seminars and laboratories, Dr. Gaffney learned to perform root canals and many other specialized dental procedures on dogs and cats. She has been doing specialized dental procedures for 14 years now!
Let us introduce you to our friendly, caring staff that will assist you and your pet(s):
Marcy Archer joined our team as Hospital Manager in April 2005. Marcy and her husband Larry, and their 2 dogs, moved to the Moreno Valley in July 1998 from Amarillo, Texas. It will more than likely be Marcy's friendly voice that you'll hear on the phone when you call to schedule your pet's veterinary, boarding, or grooming appointments.
Neela Zipporah, came on board October 2008. Neela is new to the Moreno Valley, but is enjoying the beauty and the change of scenery. She has had a life-long connection with animals and loves working with all the critters that pass through the animal hospital.
Audrey Farley has worked as our groomer since 2002 and does a great job! Audrey also teaches dog obedience classes at the local community center. She has 30+ years in animal training. She is married with 2 college age children and has a dog named "Mir".
Blinky is the clinic cat. He was found at the only blinking light in our area, hence the name "Blinky", when he was only 3-weeks old. We all fell in love with him and he is slowly learning how to run a veterinary office! He has lots of toys and loves to play in his pop-up clubhouse.
Please call our office, 575-377-3165, or stop by, 3382 Mtn. View Blvd, Unit H - in Angel Fire, to schedule your pet's next visit. Our office is located in the building behind the Bank of America.
We look forward to meeting you and your pet(s)!
