OUR STAFF AND OFFICE PETS:

Dr. Susan Gaffney and her family moved to Angel Fire in the fall of 1996.  Initially Dr. Gaffney provided veterinary services by making house calls until the Angel Fire Small Animal Hospital was completed in February of 1997.

Dr. Gaffney and her husband Tim have 2 children, Lewis, their 17 year old son, and Erin, their 15 year old daughter. You may very well meet Tim when visiting the boarding facility at their house or when he is  helping out around the veterinary hospital.

Dr. Gaffney graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.  Her first position after veterinary school was as an associate veterinarian in Tulsa, Oklahoma at a practice that saw a lot of birds and other exotic small animals in addition to dogs and cats.  For the next 3 years,  Dr. Gaffney attended to many parrots, macaws, and other birds as well as small exotic mammals, rabbits, guinea pigs "pocket pets".

After 3 years of working at the predominantly exotic animal clinic, Dr Gaffney moved to Woodland Animal Medical Center, a large multiple veterinarian practice with a few satellite clinics in Tulsa.  She continued seeing exotic animals and also developed an interest in small animal dentistry.  After several continuing education seminars and laboratories,  Dr. Gaffney learned to perform root canals and many other specialized dental procedures on dogs and cats. She has been doing specialized dental procedures for 14 years now!

Let us introduce you to our friendly, caring staff that will assist you and your pet(s):

Marcy Archer joined our team as Hospital Manager in April 2005. Marcy and her husband Larry moved to the Moreno Valley in July 1998 from Amarillo, Texas. They have a mixed breed dog, Shiloh, that they adopted from the animal shelter in Taos. It will more than likely be Marcy's friendly voice that you'll hear on the phone when you call to schedule your pet's veterinary or boarding appointments.

Holli Faulkner, CVT/RVT joined our team November of 2010. Holli is a 1999 graduate of the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, CO and all-and-all has been working in the veterinary medical field for about 20 years. Holli currently lives in Springer, NM with her husband and their service dog. Holli drives over from Springer on Tuesdays and Fridays to assist Dr. Gaffney in the animal hospital.

Anna Stewart works with us part-time in the animal hospital and also as our kennel manager. Anna and her husband, Danny, have lived in the area over 20 years. Anna raises and shows borzois (Russian wolfhounds).

Blinky is one of the clinic cats. He was found at the only blinking light in our area, hence the name "Blinky", when he was only 3-weeks old. We all fell in love with him and he is slowly learning how to run a veterinary office! He has lots of toys and loves to play with paper and in boxes.

Teddy, the clinic cat, is Blinky's buddy! Teddy was a stray cat in Eagle Nest that was number 32 out of 47 stray cats in Eagle Nest that Dr. Gaffney spayed/neutered over the summer of 2009! He and Blinky are good buddies... most of the time!

Sweet Pea is the office cockatiel. He doesn't say much, but he loves for you to talk to him and he loves to whistle!

Please call our office, 575-377-3165, or stop by, 3382 Mtn. View Blvd, Unit H - in Angel Fire, to schedule your pet's next visit. Our office is located in the building behind the Bank of America.
We look forward to meeting you and your pet(s)!
